How she found us

Poppy was nine years old when her family left her behind. We don’t say more than that, because the truth doesn’t help her now.

She arrived stiff with grief. She didn’t eat for two days. She didn’t look up.

Who she is now

She still likes her quiet. But she trusts again. She’ll knead my lap in the evening when I read, and she has slowly, gently, started to purr in her sleep.

That’s everything, really. That’s the whole point.

What she still needs

Older cats need more support — Poppy’s kidneys mean a special diet for life. Donations toward her food and twice-yearly bloodwork are how we keep her well.
